EXAMS AND CHECK-UPS

In general, the American Dental Association recommends routine dental checks up every six months. However, you may require more frequent visits if you have certain medical conditions such as diabetes or compromised immunity that put you at a higher risk for gum disease and tooth decay. When you routinely have your teeth and oral conditions examined, dental issues can be discovered and resolved promptly, often with more conservative and less costly approaches

DENTAL CLEANINGS

Professional dental cleanings are vital to your oral and overall health. The ADA recommends it be done at least every six months. This is because even the most perfect home brushing and flossing routine does not remove 100% of food debris on your teeth, which can absorb the minerals in your saliva and become hard tartar. Unfortunately hard tartar can only be removed with professional cleaning instruments. If tartar is not removed promptly, it will attract more bacteria and toxins to the area, and cause gum inflammation, which can ultimately leads to bone loss around your teeth (gum disease)

PREVENTIVE CARE

Aside from routine dental exams and cleanings. We recommend the following care as means to prevent dental and gum diseases

  • Fluoride varnish: this type of fluoride application remains on your teeth surface and continuously releases fluoride for up to 3 months. It is a proven fact that fluoride makes your teeth more resistant to acids that causes cavities

  • Dental sealants: this preventative and non-invasive procedure seals the grooves on adult or baby molars and reduce the risk of cavities.

DENTAL FILLINGS

A dental filling is a type of dental restoration to restore the function, integrity, and morphology of missing tooth structure resulting from cavities or external trauma. We use high quality composite materials that offer excellent strength and esthetics

CROWN AND BRIDGES

Crowns and Bridges Crowns (or caps) are dental restorations that are placed over a tooth when conservative restorations are insufficient to restore form and function. A bridge serves to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Crowns are considered full coverage restorations that offers superior strength and longevity as opposed to fillings. Crowns and bridges can be made entirely of tooth-colored material, metal, or a combination to provide optimal aesthetics

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Inside the tooth, the pulp's soft tissue contains the blood supply, by which the tooth gets its nutrients, and the nerve, by which the tooth senses hot and cold. This tissue is vulnerable to damage from deep dental decay, accidental injury, tooth fracture, or trauma from repeated dental procedures (such as multiple fillings over time). If a tooth becomes diseased or injured, bacteria build up inside the pulp, spreading infection from the natural crown of the tooth to the root tips in the jawbone. Pus accumulates at the ends of the roots, forming a painful abscess which can damage the bone supporting the teeth. Such an infection may produce pain that is severe, constant, or throbbing, as well as prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, swelling and tenderness in the surrounding gums, facial swelling, and discoloration of the tooth. However, in some cases, the pulp may die so gradually that there is little noticeable pain.

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is a dental procedure in which the diseased or damaged pulp (core) of a tooth is removed and the inside areas (the pulp chamber and root canals) are filled and sealed.

In most cases, after a tooth undergoes root canal treatment, a crown needs to be placed to fully restore the tooth.

 PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

The ADA recommends children be seen and evaluated by a dentist by age one. We are happy to be part of your child's first dental experience. During his/her first visit, the dentist will evaluate the child's dental development, screen for cavities, discuss proper oral hygiene practices , oral habits and diet. This will also allow your child to become  acclimated to routine dental care.

In most cases, we do perform preventative and restorative treatments such as cleanings, fluoride, sealants and fillings in the office.
